As the show season moves on, European reiners are making arrangements
to move on the beautiful CS Ranch in Givrins, Switzerland, where
the 2010 NRHA European Affiliate Championship will be held on
July 1-4. Due to the extraordinary success of the SVAG CS Classic
in the past years, the National Reining Horse Association will
be hosting the EAC here both in 2010 and 2011, during the SVAG
CS Classic itself. This years’ event will therefore be extended
from 3 to 7 days, with around 200 horses from all over Europe
expected to compete. It will be a first time at the Cs Ranch for
Anky van Grunsven, multiple olympic dressage gold medalist, as
well as for Cody Sapergia, new head trainer for Bevilacqua Quarter
Horses, Italy. These two world-class athletes will be competing
with Europe’s elite reiners.
Horses and riders will
be able to arrive as of June 27th with competition ready to go
on Wednesday 30th when the NRHA approved CS Classic Youth and
Rookie classes will be held prior to the prestigious FEI approved
CRI*. On Thursday, the first NRHA European Affiliate Champions
will be crowned as the Intermediate Non Pro and Intermediate Open
finals will be held. Friday will see the Limited Non Pro, Youth
and Open riders compete for the titles; on Saturday the Rookie
and Non Pro EAC classes will be held and on Sunday, the Limited
Open riders will be vying for the European Championship title.
Promotion
Europe’s finest reiners will also be seen riding for the title
in the NRHA approved CS Classic $30,000 added Open on Saturday evening
and for the NRHA approved CS Classic $20,000 added Non Pro, which
will close the 2010 edition of the Show, on Sunday afternoon.
“We are very
proud to be able to host the NRHA European Affiliate finals this
year. Our goal is to make the riders feel comfortable at our Ranch,
giving them the opportunity to show under the best possible conditions.
In the past editions of the CS Classic this was achieved and we
look forward to doing the same in this years’ show”,
said host, Corinna Schumacher.
“As in the past years, we want all the visitors, riders
and horses to feel at ease and have a good time, especially considering
the novelties and improvements that have been made to the facility.
Without all the supporters, partners and sponsors this would not
be possible and we would like to thank all, especially to our
loyal main sponsor, Schweizer Vermögensberatung,” added
Show-Manager Eric Obrecht.
